Yarn: One skein Malabrigo Arroyo or approx. 335 yds sport weight yarn
Needles: US size 5 (3.75mm), 48” circular needles
Gauge: 22 stitches and 22 rows = 4” square Finished Size: 46” in circumference, 8” wide after blocking
I fell in love with knitting mobius cowls this year because I love the way they naturally twist and create interest rather than laying like a tube around your neck! I also love that you feel like you’re performing a magic trick!
After the unique cast-on, however, I wanted a simple, meditative knitting experience that still created something beautifully textured. Because of the way a mobius comes together, you see both the front and back side of this stitch pattern equally. I love the woven, linen look of the “front side” and the diagonal stitch patterns on the “back.”
I designed this to be a long cowl or to be twisted and looped twice, but it could easily be adjusted to be closer to the neck and wider, if that’s your preferred style.
